Spyderco is releasing a Para Military 3 variant in CPM-MagnaCut. Here are the details.
The Details
Sprint run Para 3 in CPM-MagnaCut with dark green G-10 handles. Expected to ship Q3 2025 at approximately $195.
Why It Matters
The Para 3 is already one of the best EDC platforms. MagnaCut adds the best balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance available in any knife steel today.
Expected Performance
Based on other MagnaCut knives we've tested: expect S45VN-level sharpness with significantly better corrosion resistance and comparable toughness to Cruwear. Sharpening difficulty similar to S30V.
Should You Wait?
If you were going to buy a Para 3 anyway: yes, wait. The upgrade is meaningful and the premium over S45VN is worth it for most users.
